From the day I first read about Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8 I knew I'd found what I was looking for, a rich graphics program that promised to be user-friendly as well as inexpensive. Not only has it allowed me to create the graphics I needed for my web site, but it also unexpectedly provided a way to be creative with pictures of the perennials in my garden. Below are a few of the features of the program, many of which were used in my perpixelations:

  • simple image editing
  • creating images for the Web such as those around each of my pages
  • adding creative effects to images
  • adding text to images
  • creating dazzling text effects
  • painting with artistic brushes, patterns, textures, picture tubes
  • repairing and restoring photographs
  • creating animations
  • creating photo montages
  • creating wallpaper or a screensaver from large scrapbook pages

Not all the perennials and their images from which my perpixelations were created belong to me. Several gardening friends provided photographs. After "perpixelating" with them over time I almost feel as though they are mine. Special thanks to Jennifer, Sherri and Marie.

They say the first thing you need for your web site is a "look" that can be used throughout. I had a sense of what my "look" should be, but absolutely no idea how to create it until I happened upon Moon's Designs. Suddenly I realized this wonderful tutorial writer was giving me exactly what I needed to get me started. Thanks are in order for all the tutorial writers out there who provide the artistically-challenged among us with so many wonderful ideas and the ability to put them to use.
